It is also a dynamic and complex country facing a number of opportunities and challenges that are a matter of great interest across the world. With this in mind, we recently launched Brookings India—a center for public policy research based in New Delhi, which I am honored to serve as its chairman. At our first event in New Delhi, I was grateful to host and engage <em>New York Times</em> op-ed columnist and author Thomas L.
